Croeso to our school website! We believe that every step of your child's education is as important as the one before. With this in mind, we strive continually to provide inspiring learning experiences for children.
The day had arrived! Our very own School Triathlon!
On Wednesday 24th September, all children in the Juniors participated in a sponsored triathlon to raise money for Ty Gobaith.
Each year group had a rotation of activities which included a session at Rhyl Swimming Centre and then a cycling event on the school field. In the afternoon, all members of Year 3,4,5 and 6 gathered on the Junior field and ran together to finish off the Triathlon event.
Friday 26th September
Our athletes were prepared and the Junior children were ready to support this fantastic cause!
Each class made their way to Marine Lake in readiness for the event.
As 10 o'clock came, so did the rain. But this didn't dampen our spirits! The children were very excited to see representatives from our school compete in the Area Triathlon.
The first race was the individual event, where our athlete from Year 6 competed to the best of his ability. He battled against the other athletes [and the weather] and endured a swim in Marine Lake, a cycle ride around the lake and then a run to finish his triathlon. He came in in first place! A fantastic effort. We are all so very proud!
The next race was the team event where 3 members from Year 5 and 6 each took one of the legs. We did fantastically well against the other teams and came in at an amazing 3rd place! Well done to the triathlon team! Superb effort from all three of you.
The highlight of most people's day however was the teacher and headteacher race. Our very own Mr Cannon, kitted out in his wetsuit, took to the water as did a member of the staff team. This was once again followed by the cycle event and to finish, the running race.
The children thought it was wonderful watching the staff participating in the event and many said it was their favourite part of the day!
Diolch yn fawr to all those who came along to support and endured the weather too! It was lovely to see so many faces.
A wonderful event for a wonderful cause!
As a cluster of Rhyl Schools, we are hoping to raise £10,000 for Ty Gobaith. The efforts from the children on our very own School Triathlon day and the monies raised so far, show that we are well on the way to achieveing that goal!
