Ysgol Bryn Hedydd celebrate 'Science On the Sands' day
On Tuesday 12th April, the entire school at Ysgol Bryn Hedydd, that is approximately 450 children... all went down to our local beach to experience 'Science On The Sand'!
Each class enjoyed many different activities throughout the day and by 3 o'clock were a little bit tired!
The Infants started their day with the Science activities ranging from Scavenger Hunts to natural and man-made materials.
The Juniors spent the morning in their classes playing rounders, making sand sculptures and playing Science-based games. They also had great fun playing with their buckets and spades.
By dinnertime, everyone was very hungry and met at the stone circle for their lunch. We all sat down as a school and munched away on our sandwiches whilst chatting with our friends.
In the afternoon, the tasks switched, with the Infants carrying out P.E based activities on the sand and the Juniors having their turn at 'Science On The Sand'. This ranged from a 'bouncing ball investigation' [we tried our very best in the wind!!!] diamond ranking of factors about sun care, sand art and building the tallest sandcastle.
Thank you also to the parents who came along to support us. It was lovely to see you all there.
We would also like to say a great big thank you to the children of Ysgol Bryn Hedydd who behaved extremely well and carried out all the tasks with great enthusiasm.
