It was 7.30am on a warm Monday morning... there was a blur of red and a lot of excited voices gathering outside the Rhyl train station. Year 6 were off on their adventure!
On Monday 18th June, 36 year 6 pupils, along with Mr Cannon, Mrs Evans, Mrs P-G and Mr Nolan embarked on YBH's first ever residential trip to London, and what an amazing time they had!
During their three jam packed days the pupils toured London by tube taking in Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and 10 Downing Street.
They went to the Lyceum Theatre to watch the amazing Lion King - and were spellbound by the costumes! They were given a guided tour of The Houses of Parliament by Chris Ruane, and were lucky enough to be shown around the House of Lords and the House of Commons. It was an amazing experience.
Madam Tussauds was a highlight of the trip where they 'met' some very famous people! The London sights were also viewed from different angles on their trips on the London and Eye and the Thames River Cruise.
Dinner at the Rainforest Cafe was great fun, as was travelling about on the tube! The living statues along the South Bank were simply amazing.
After their work in year6 on WWII, The Churchill War Rooms was appreciated by everyone.
Shopping in Harrods, a visit to the Natural History Museum and a voyage of discovery in the Science museum bought our stay in London to an end.
We had been so lucky to have beautiful sunny weather for our three days away, and it made our stay in London just perfect!
