Year 6 Art work
Year 6 pupils have been working on oral presentations in language lessons based on art appreciation work they have completed.
First of all the pupils found a work of art they really liked and read up about the piece - how, where and when it was made, the life of the artist, the history of the piece and so on.
They then created their own work of art based on, or inspired by, their chosen piece. Some chose to do details or direct pastiche versions, others attempeted commentaries or parody and some were really tangental in their thinking - attempting the same subject in a different style or vice versa. The results are fascinating and you can see a sample here.
The final part of the project involves delivering a short oral presentation talking about the piece they chose and explaining the thinking behind their own work.
