Keeping afloat!
Pupils in year five were set the challenge to create a boat from a chosen material. Working in groups they were given the task to design and make a boat that would be capable of holding blocks. The group that designed a boat capable of holding the most blocks was deemed most successful. There was five materials to be tested, with four groups creating boats for each. Everyone was successful in designing and making a boat. In addition, pupils were able to understand and explain the reasons behind the best boat design. Pupils recorded their information on science investigation sheets. Check out the photos to see how they got on.
