Year 3 enjoy 'Core Subject Week'
We have had a great time so far this 'Core Subject Week'!
We have got up to all sorts, linked to Language, Maths and Science.
In Maths, we had a go at understanding fractions by using Smarties. Boy that was hard work! But we had a lovely reward at the end!
We have also made nets of buildings, learning new skills along the way and helping our understanding of 3D shapes.
We also carried out an investigation linked to Maths, to see 'Who was the best jumper' in Year 3LW. And our winner was......Cody Hughes! At 176cm! Wow, well done Cody.
Science has given us the opportunity to carry out an investigation, called 'Who's eaten all of our porridge?'
We have planned the investigation, we have planned to use 4 different materials to wrap up our plastic cups containing warm porridge, to see which material is the best/ worst insulator of heat.
We are going to carry out the investigation towards the end of the week and will post photos on the website! Keep checking!
Language has been the most exciting, as we are currently working on our very own animation! we are going to animate the traditional tale of 'The Goose with the Golden Egg'
We are in teams of three and are at the planning stage right now. We will then make our resources and the most exciting bit...create our very own animation, using a camera and Windows Movie Maker! We can't wait! The best ones will be put of the school website.
