Since the arrival of the iPods in year 5, we have constantly been able to develop lessons that extend the learning of our pupils. As part of this term's Physical Education lessons, we are looking at health and fitness. The children have been documenting pulse rates using their iPods to measure blood flow via the camera and natural sun light. Pupils took their resting pulse rates and then completed a run around the playground to discover the change that happens to their pulse rate during exercise. Children then documented their pulse rate again five minutes later. The activity proved useful for pupils to understand what the body experiences through physical exercise. A mental and physical workout for everyone can be seen in the pictures!
