Autumn 1. All About Me. We have been working hard to write our names

All the children have started Nursery and have settled into school life very well. The children are making a good start, they are learning the Nursery routine and class rules.

We have been really busy finding out about our new classroom and school. We have been on a ‘School Tour’ to see where all the other children in school work.

We have been making lots of new friends this half term; we play nicely with each other and are learning to share our things.

In Nursery we are learning to do things for ourselves, we try to put our coats on by ourselves and get changed into our PE Kits as best as we can. We are getting good at this!

You can help us become more independent by encouraging us to get changed in and out of our clothes at home by ourselves.

In Nursery we are learning how fantastic it is to live in Wales! We are learning and using lots of new Welsh words! We are learning numbers in Welsh, colours in Welsh, greetings in Welsh, weather types in Welsh and the days of the week in Welsh.
If you can speak Welsh (or know any Welsh words/ phrase) it would be wonderful if you could practise and promote Welsh speaking with your child at home.

In Nursery our teacher chooses two children from each group to be the class ‘Helpwr Heddiw’ for the session. These children help the Nursery staff and have special jobs to do. This is a very important job and only children who have been good will get chosen each session to help.

In Nursery we are learning to use our ‘Thinking Skills’. We use our ‘Listening skills’, our ‘Looking Skills’, our ‘Speaking Skills’ and our ‘Thinking in my Head’ skills. We are learning that we can learn more if we always wear our thinking caps!
