This term, as our theme day, pupils were invited to dress in Victorian clothing and experience first hand a Victorian classroom. Discipline was extremely strict in Victorian Britain and both teachers flexed the cane on a number of occasions. Pupils spent the morning practicing handwriting, mathematics and reciting. Handwriting and mathematics were carried out on a piece of slate to keep in a similar style to Victorian times. Pupils later created Christmas crackers, involving making a Christmas hat, writing a joke and wrapping a prize. Pupils had fun but were glad to return to a 21st century.
