The rain did not dampen our spirits at this year's Bryn Hedydd Summer Fayre!

The rain did not dampen our spirits at this year's Bryn Hedydd Summer Fayre!

'Brazilian Week' in Ysgol Bryn Hedydd has been amazing!

So many activities were going on throughout the school!

As a finale to our week, Ysgol Bryn Hedydd decided to use the theme at our Summer Fayre.

The evening kicked off with a Brazilian parade, with all the children wearing the Mardi Gras masks they had made in school that week.

The parade was led by a gigantic fish created by the Year 6 children and their teacher, Mr Tudor-Vincent. It was amazing!

The colourful fish led the children and grown-ups around the school yard, stopping at the new infants outdoor play area which was officially opened.

There was lots and lots of activities happening on the yard, with bouncy castles, bungee challenges and Formula One racing circuits! The children had a fantastic time even out in the rain! Thank you to all those members of staff who braved the elements that night with a smile on their faces!

Unfortunately, due to the weather, the successful Year 6 Dragon's Den project of the Brazilian Football Tournament had to be postponed. But this will commence in school time next week.

Many stalls filled our school hall too! Visitors could purchase [another Dragon's Den project] 'Chocolate Buttons' and 'Fruit Smoothies'. We had stalls selling hair accessories and plants too! There were toffee apples and butterfly biscuits for sale by the Year 1 teachers. Mrs McGilloway had a fantastic evening on her 'Rio de Janeiro Jars' stall, quickly selling all 200 jars! Mrs Rodgers was busy badge-making, while Mrs Mutch-Williams, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Williams made up the 'Human Fruit Machine'!

Ysgol Bryn Hedydd also ran a 'Talent Show' in the hall, showcasing some of the talents within the school. From gymnastics to singing to African drumming! Well done to all those children who took part.

Throughout the school, we also had other activities going on - the chocolate fountain was in full flow, as was the bottle stall. The café, bar and cake stall were of much welcome relief to many who sort shelter from the good old Rhyl weather!!!

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our Summer Fayre last night.
First totals show that we have raised about £1200!!! Wow! Fantastic everyone!

Thank you also, to all the staff and helpers who gave up their own time to help our school. We couldn't have done it without you!

A special mention has to be given to Mr Jac Armstrong, who was the official school website photographer for the evening! Thank you Jac.
