Croeso to our school website! We believe that every step of your child's education is as important as the one before. With this in mind, we strive continually to provide inspiring learning experiences for children.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Important changes to our website.
Passed on from our 'Primarysite', the company who hosts our website.
From the 26th of May 2012 new EU law will be implemented that will affect all UK websites. This law requires that all websites give users the option whether to accept the use of ‘cookies’ on their computers.
Cookies are tiny text files stored on your computer when you visit certain pages to make your internet viewing experience better. Cookies cannot harm your computer. If you do not accept the cookies, the viewing experience of our school website could be restricted.
PrimarySite is starting to roll out the required changes to all the school websites. As they do this, our visitors will see a message asking them to accept cookies. Please accept them, or you may not be able to view our website correctly. Once you have accepted the cookies, you will not see the message again.
We have re-issued the head lice policy for you. Please be advised we do not issue letters where cases are discovered in classes.
Our policy is being pro-active rather than re active to the situation.
Please try and help by sending your child to school with their hair tied back.
Just to remind you about our continual drive to lower our school carbon footprint with our 'Walk on Wednesday and Friday' and our 'Bike It' schemes.
Realistically, the idea of both schemes is for children and adults to either walk or cycle to school every day or on the planned days at least and if you cannot walk at least park and stride close to school in order to cut the amount of cars using Spruce Avenue.
All children who bike or scooter are entitled to a 'Bike It' token which enters them into the 'Bike It' raffle and the chance of winning a new bike. The WOW tokens entitle children to enter the WOW raffle where first prize is an Ipod. If you have not joined us before or just had a rest then please come and join the fun!
Our sports days are planned for the dates in June [see 'Calendar section' and we have decided to change our usual plan and devote time and activities around London 2012.
We are also holding a Non-Olympic Beach Sports Day during our Global Citizenship week. This will be developed around our planned week on the Olympics.
The children will therefore have two Olympic style events to help them and us all get ready and excited for London 2012.
Hopefully the children will research various countries in the classes and we will have an Olympic procession during the Summer Fayre and Sports Day.
If you have changed a mobile or home number lately, can you ensure you let the office know as this is sometimes our only way to contact you.
We have recently updated our very important 'Home School Agreement' document and children in Year groups from Reception to Year 5 should receive two copies of this.
Please read with your child and sign one copy to return to school and keep the other.
The document is important for our continued drive on working together to 'always improve on previous best'.

Ysgol Bryn Hedydd would like to say a great big THANK YOU to Mr Grindal, parent of Millie and Demi Lea for giving up his time to put the shed up for the Foundation Phase.
Greatly appreciated. Thank you once again.
