  • Visit to County Hall for our Councillors

    Wed 11 Feb 2015
A few weeks ago, our Upper Junior School Councillors had the pleasure of visiting Ruthin County Hall.

The idea behind it was to have a guided tour of the building and understand how the Council is run.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the Chairman, Councillor Brian Blakeley and other members of the Council. Pupils could ask questions and had a chance to see how the voting system worked using various colourful buttons!

It was a wonderful afternoon and the children gained a lot from the experience. They represented our School fantasically well too!

Take a look at a couple of the photographs below.

  • It's official! We are 'Green'

    Thu 05 Feb 2015
As you may have seen in the media recently, schools across Wales have been categorised into four colour bands, based on how well they are seen to be doing.

We have been put into the 'green' category, which mean we are a 'highly effective school which is well run, has strong leadership and is clear about its priorities for improvement. These schools have a track record in raising the standards that pupils achieve and have the capacity to support other schools to do better.'

We are only one of four schools in Denbighshire to be awarded the green category and one of only 230 across Wales. As you can see, this is a great achievement and everyone associated with the school should be very proud.
