  • Junior Bike Track Nears Completion!

    Wed 27 Apr 2011
Mr Cannon, and a team of willing volunteers, worked throughout the day on Tuesday, 26th April, to create the 'Bike Track' for the juniors.

With the help of a digger, lots of spades, wheelbarrows and  hard work the mounds of earth were moved and developed into an adventure track for bikes.

Several pupils, past and present, worked hard in the rain and really enjoyed the day. "It was a great day, really messy muddy fun!", said Louie Barratt of Y5CR.

One person appeared to have the most fun though..... as we couldn't help but notice that Mr Cannon greatly enjoyed driving and working the digger!!

So, what do the pupils think of the track? "We can't wait to try it out" said Louis Morgan, "it's going to be brilliant fun."

Thanks to all who gave up their time to help build the track. We are sure the children are going to love it!

  • 'Red, white and blue' Day!

    Thu 14 Apr 2011
Today Ysgol Bryn Hedydd celebrated 'Red, white and blue' Day!

The children were asked to come into school dressed in the colours of the union jack.

This was to celebrate the impending marriage of Prince William and Katherine Middleton in just over 2 weeks time.

There were lots of different activities going on in various classes - making bookmarks and commemeorative plates, looking at the Royal Family Tree and looking at where the procession for the Royal Wedding will be going around the capital.

At lunchtime, the children had a fantastic time at their 'Street Party'.

Look at the photos below to see what was going on around school.

    Fun was had by all!

  • Fantastic website for you to use - 'Cansing'

    Thu 07 Apr 2011

'Cansing' is a fantastic website that Mrs Lees has stumbled across.
We thought it would quite fun for you to use at home.

There are lots of fun things you can do on there, lots of songs in both english and welsh.

The Year 5 and 6 classes used this website and the 'beat-boxing' activity as inspiration for their welsh rap in this years Eisteddfod with Mr Tudor-Vincent.

If, when opening any of the resources it asks you for a username and password, they are as follows...

    username: brynhedydd
    password: vicky

So, see what you can find on this site and maybe let your teacher know too!

    Have fun
