  • Fun In the Sun was a hit!

    Wed 12 Jun 2013
On Wednesday 12th June, Ysgol Bryn Hedydd had another whole school Beach day. The aim this time was to have 'Fun In the Sun' with a focus on being active and keeping healthy. We certainly did have lots to do!

The weather also was on our side with no showers appearing, as promised in the forecast.

A big THANKYOU to Mrs Mutch-Williams for planning, organising and over-seeing the day. Her son Chris was also a great help.

The beach was divided into 14 stations, with an activity linked to physical education. This included, long jump,  table tennis, sand castles, up and over, football, swimming, bucket and spade, hockey, ball team game, tennis, equestrian, 5 hoops, shot put and the quoite race.

The classes covered as many of the events as time would allow, finding the champion at each station.

At 12, we stopped and headed to the stone circle to have our lunch as a school. After lunch and a bit of free play, we headed back to school, tired but happy.

  • Someone ordered the Sun for Sports Day!

    Thu 06 Jun 2013
    Hoorah!

With the weather as glorious as it is this week, our Junior Sports Day will be able to go ahead! At last!

Unfortunately, Mr Vincent is absent from school for the next few weeks, so we are going to continue as best we can without him.

It has taken a lot of planning by staff and so hope the day will be a huge success!

Each child has been told which group they are in for the events. They will go around 10 different stations [one of which is a rest stop] and collect scores for their house. We will also be finding some individual winners too.

By the end of the afternoon, around ten past two, the traditional track events will begin.

We have asked that all children come to school in their P.E kit ready for the day. We also ask that they bring to school with them a water bottle, sun hat and sun cream.

We would like to invite as many grown ups as possible to come and watch the event.
On entering the school grounds, head round to the back playground where there will be an 'Information' board near the yellow bus. This will tell you where your child will be at that time. You are welcome to stay as long as you want and watch your child particpate in this years Sports Day.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
  • Another Successful Bike It Day!!

    Wed 05 Jun 2013

Brilliant weather, brilliant bikes and scooters and brilliant children all helped to make this our best "Bike It Day" ever. A big thanks to Mrs.Roberts, Barry Dunn and the bike it crew for making the day run so smoothly and we all had so much fun.
