• Our somewhat soggy Summer Fayre wasn't dampened by the weather!

  Diolch yn fawr to all those who supported our soggy Summer Fayre!
  
  But the spirits weren't dampened!
  
  The evening was a great success with all events happening inside school.
  
  Lots of things were going on in school and many pupils and families came to support us.
  
  'Gez's Jars'

   

  One of the most popular stalls was 'Gez's Jars'.
  This stall has been growing in popularity since it started a year ago. Miss McGilloway had 440 jars that had been donated to her stall and was chuffed to bits with the evenings success!

   

  A big thank you to all those who supported this stall.
  Diolch Miss McGilloway for your hard work, which has been going on for months behind the scene. A special 'thank you' to Mrs Murphy who donated many jars and also helped on the evening.

   

  Miss McGilloway has asked if anyone could return the empty jars to her, she would be very grateful. This will help her get ready for the Christmas Fayre [already planning!!!]
  
  Olympic Torch
  
  We were also lucky enough to have one of the olympic torches at our School, for one night only! 
  For £1 you could have your photo taken alongside the torch. A very popular addition to our Summer Fayre!

   

  Guess the Teacher.
  
  Another thank you to Mrs Bowers for organising the 'Guess the Teacher' stall.
  There was a lot of interest in this stall and the results are revealed!

• Returning in September

  Some parents have been enquiring when we will return after the Summer Holidays.
  
  For those who want to know.... [for those that don't.....close your eyes for now ;) ]
  
  Tuesday 4th September - the children return to school.
   

• Junior Sports Day cancelled again!

  With much regret, Ysgol Bryn Hedydd has had to cancel Junior Sports Day for a third time, due to water-logged grounds. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. The Sports Day due to take place on Wednesday 11th July is cancelled. :(

• 'Meet the New Teacher' evening

  Just to remind you of the 'Meet the New Teacher' evenings that are on this week.
  
  We invite the Reception parents to meet the new Year One teachers on Thursday 12th July, at 5.00 p.m.
  
  Then at 5.45 p.m, we invite the Year Two parents to meet the new Year Three teachers.
  
  We will take the opportunity to explain any changes to routines/ methods etc that your child will encounter next year.
  
  You will also have an opportunity to see your child's new classroom and then ask questions about anything that may concern you to a member of staff.
  
  [On this occasion we feel more will be achieved without the presence of any children as we will be able to speak more freely in an adult only environment.]

• News on cancelled meetings.

  Both the Parents Forum Meeting and the Friends Meeting unfortunately have been cancelled for tomorrow, Thursday 5th July. 
  Both have been rescheduled for a later date.
  
  The Parents Forum Meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday 20th September at 4.30p.m in the staffroom.
  
  The Friends meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday 10th July at 4.00 p.m in the staffroom.
  
  Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

• Bad weather results in Junior Sports Day being cancelled again.... Tuesday 3rd July

  JUNIOR SPORTS DAY CANCELLED AGAIN! 
  
  The event was proposed to take place tomorrow [Tuesday 3rd July] however, what with the bad weather today and predicted rain for tomorrow, we unfortunately can not go ahead with the event. 
  
  We have planned for the event to take place on Wednesday 11th July, all being well. We appreciate all of your support and understand it must be difficult, especially if you have arranged time off work.
  
  We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused.
