On Wednesday 25th September, Ysgol Bryn Hedydd held their annual Super Maths Day.
All classes across the school participated and the children had great fun with their activities and hands-on tasks, that they didn't even realise they were learning!
Many of the activities were on a rotational basis and the children got to experience a variety of mathematical concepts.
Year 6CE were working in pairs to crack the mathematical codes to reveal hidden clues around Year 6.
In Year 6RP they were completing the 24 Challenge. Each table was tasked with making 24 from the 4 numbers given, who ever got it first gets the card!
Year 5 with Mrs Roberts were designing their own Nature Reserve. Given a budget of £10,000 to spend. Making good use of the money and keeping account of how it was spent.
Year 4 designed their own zoo! They had £10,000 to spend on buildings and structures and £5,000 to spend on animals. this involved addition, subtraction, customer satisfaction and animal welfare!
As you can agree, a lot going on!
Take a look at the photos of the sorts of activities we got up to.
