In class, year 4 are doing a mini-topic studying the history and the legacy of the Romans in Britain so visiting the Dewa Roman Experience in Chester taught them an awful lot about what it was like to live like a Roman. The children walked through Roman streets, learned about how the Romans kept themselves clean in baths and how they shared toilets (and shared a sponge to clean themselves after!! Erghhhh!) They then marched along the walls and pretended to be gladiators in the amphitheatre. Then the best bit was marching back through the town chanting 'Sin, Sin, Sin Dex Sin'. This means, 'left, left, left right left'.
