As part of the recent beach day visit, pupils were asked to create a bridge that would allow a toy boat under and hold the weight of a toy car over it. To expand on this activity and draw upon their D and T skills, pupils were asked to form small business's to create a bridge out of paper. Again they had to allow a toy boat under and the car over it. In addition pupils were only allowed to spend A restricted amount of money with different building materials costing various amounts. This allowed them to think independently but also take into account the cost of materials such as the paper itself. A challenging but highly rewarding activity. Check out the photographs to see how they got on.
