• Bring Your Parent to work day / 40th celebrations

  This event will be taking place on Thursday 4th November.
  If you have any old YBH photos, plaese can you let us have a copy for our presentation.

• 'Dinosaur Day' in Year 2

  Year 2 will be holding a 'Dinosaur Day' on Wednesday 20th October.

• 'School Sleep Over'

  On Friday 12th November, we are planning a 'school sleep over' for KS2.
  This will be a fundraiser for the outdoor play area furniture.
  The sleep will cost £6.00 with the children receiving a BBQ meal, video, quiz and then they will sleep overnight in the classroom supervised by a member of staff and CRB checked adult.
  The children will then be picked up by 9 0'clock the following morning.

• Ysgol Bryn Hedydd receive a 'Bike It' award

  The 'Bike It Crew' received the 'Bike It Wales Bronze Award' from the local 'Bike It officer, Allan.

  We have sent out leaflets for the shoebox appeal this year.
  By following the instructions on the leaflet, we ask you to think about filling a shoebox up, to help people in parts of Europe less fortunate than ourselves.
  With over 400 pupils in school, we should to able to help a lot of families.
  Thank you for your support on this.

• Ysgol Bryn Hedydd celebrate National Poetry Day!

  Ysgol Bryn Hedydd held a special service this afternoon to celebrate 'National Poetry Day'
  During the get-together, some teachers read out their favourite poems. Mr Cannon's was 'An Alein Stole My Underpants' by Brian Moses and Mrs Warrilow had chosen 'On The Ning Nang Nong' by Spike Milligan. 
  
  We also revealed the school's poem. Throughout the day, each class had written a section of a poem based on 'Homes'. The final product was then read out by the children.

• 40th Celebrations!

  Please put Thursday 4th November in your diaries. We are holding our first ever 'Bring Your Parent To School' Day, which will be part of our 40th celebrations.
  We intend to have a day of celebrations including rides, bonfire, barbeque, film for the children and old photographs of children and staff! If you have any old photographs or know of anyone who has some, we would be grateful for a copy. 

• Parents/ Grandparents Dinners

  Would you like to come in and have a school dinner with your child?
  
  This is a new initiative that Ysgol Bryn Hedydd are trying to promote.
  
  The timetable for this has been printed in the recent Parental Newsletter no. 2.

  The cost per adult is £3.00
  
  You can eat lunch with your child and can stay for the remainder of lunch time and play with your child if you wish to do so.
