  A selection of children took part in an art workshop today with local artist Emma-Jayne Holmes. They enjoyed practising different drawing techniques to show off their talents.

  

• Eisteddfod 2013 Winners

  Llongyfarchiadau i Alisha Buckley (6DV), ennillydd "Y Gadair" yng nghystadleuaeth am ysgrifennu yn yr Iaeth Gymraeg yn Eisteddfod Ysgol Bryn Hedydd, 2013.
  Llongyfarchiadau hefyd i Kaitlyn Gorry (6CE), ennillydd "Med y Dysgwyr, Cymraeg" mewn cydnabyddiaeth o frwdfrydedd tuag at ddiwylliant Cymru a'r Iaeth Gymraeg.
  
  Congratulations to Alisha Buckley (6DV), winner of the "Gadair" Welsh language writing competition in the Ysgol Bryn Hedydd Eisteddfod, 2013.
  Congratulations also to Kaitlyn Gorry (6CE) winner of the Welsh learner's medal in recognition of enthusiasm for Welsh culture and language.
  
  Pictured also are Adam Hand, Conner Scott, Luke Gardiner and Paul Michael Ridyard who won the Best Dorm' Competition during the recent residential visit to Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan Llyn, Bala.  The behaviour of all pupils was exemplary throughout the trip and the staff accompanying them were hugely proud of the children.

• F1 Blaze to Victory in Llandudno

  Congratulations to the school's F1 in Schools Team, BH Blaze, who won the Regional Finals at the Big Bang Science Fair in Llandudno on Monday. 
  
  The team of Maddison Thomas, Tegan Muff, Calum Jones, Alisha Buckley, Cameron McAlister and Dylan Bowers were superb on the day and produced a really polished performance. The team now qualify for the National Finals later this year. 
  We will add some pictures to the website now,  but not too many as you never know who is looking!!
  
  Well done to all the team and Mrs PG for all their efforts. Da Iawn.

  

• TRY competition

  On Saturday 2nd March pupils from Bryn Hedydd took part in the Talented Rhyl Youth competition.  There were entries for singing, poetry recitation, art and dance.  A big well done to all who took part and to those of you who won medals on the day.  We also need to say a big thank you to Mrs. Breese for all of her hard work in both the lead up to the competition and also on the day.

• Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant ~ Eisteddfod

  On Friday, 1st March we celebrated St. David's Day by holding our own Eisteddfod in the School Hall.  Each year group performed a song, recitation or dance to the rest of the School and we found out who the winners were of the 'Wales on a Plate', 3D art, collage and handwriting competitions were.  Photos of the morning will follow in the next few days.
