Croeso to our school website! We believe that every step of your child's education is as important as the one before. With this in mind, we strive continually to provide inspiring learning experiences for children.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We are sure your child has come home recently and spoken about 'Fun With Phonics'
This is a new initiative that KS1 started off for us at the beginning of the Spring Term. It worked so well with the infants, that it was decided that the junior children should follow the programme too.
At half past 10 every day, all children from Year 1 all the way through to Year 6 relocate into their groups to work on phonics in their focus groups.
As our written language uses phonetic sounds to create words, it is this knowledge that your child needs to fully master reading and spelling.
Every day for half an hour, your child will be taught these phonic sounds in order to help them with their reading and spelling. Every child in the school will be undertaking a reading or spelling activity during this time and teaching will be targeted and focused in order to help every single child reach their full potential.
Did you happen to see a April 4th edition of the Journal during the Easter holidays?
An article caught our eye at Ysgol Bryn Hedydd...
'Meet our local torch bearers'
The article was about the recent announcement of the London Games torch relay route and some of the inspirational people who have been asked to carry the flame.
Pupils from Rhyl High School are part of this fantastic honour and as we looked closely at the photo below, we could see 5 out the 8 chosen are former Bryn Hedydd pupils!
The pupils have been chosen because of their sporting excellence. We were really pleased to see swimmer Emily Thornton, hockey player Hal Shepherd, Wheelchair basketball star Dylan Evans, roller hockey player for Great Britain, James Morgan and golfer Rebecca Ogden.
This of course makes us very proud and shows that the skills they start to develop and employ whilst in our school have remained with them and allowed them to do so so well in many areas.
We are very proud of you all!
Firstly a huge thank you to all the children and parents who are continually biking or scooting to school. Thank you also to all those who took part in the 'Bling Your Bike Day' on Friday 23rd March and those who entered the competition.
We have come 50th overall in the UK out of 700 and 3rd in Wales for the second year running.
LNS Recovery of St Asaph for all their help.

Hopefully you should have all received your copy of the 10th Edition of the Termly Times, which was sent home on Friday.
The year 6 team have worked so very hard to produce this edition as it has been a very very busy half term, and time to work on the paper has been limited.
So, last week, with only half the team in school, they had just a day and a half to report, write and produce the paper! I think they have done a fantastic job, independent learning at its best!!
I'm really proud of their commitment to the BH Termly Times and thank them all for their hard work this week.
Excellent teamwork!
Mrs P-G
