  • We remember Mrs Jones. x

    Sun 09 Oct 2011
It was 10 a.m on Sunday 9th October and the cyclists began to arrive....

Rhyl Events Arena was the place to meet. Pupils of Bryn Hedydd, both past and present and even future! joined large numbers of staff, parents, grandparents and governors to take part in remembering Mrs Gill Jones. We were especially  pleased to be joined by members of Gill's family.

With over 145 people gathered at this event, it shows just what an impact Gill had on so many peoples lives. It was heart-warming to see the affection with which she is clearly remembered and the sense of community that exists within our school.

Proceedings were started off by the Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Win Mullen-James, who herself has grandchildren in our school.

As requested, the weather stayed fine and dry for us. The wind was behind us as we cycled along the promenade towards the Nova half-way point.

Everyone cycled at their pace. Some were very fast and even beat Mrs Newton and Mrs Donovan to Prestatyn, who provided us with refreshments and our celebration medals.

Thank you to all those that took part. Especially those who also raised some money for St Kentigerns Hospice.

If anyone would like to donate money to this worthwhile cause, please contact the school office.
