We have had a fantastic week so far learning about the 'World of Work'....and its only Tuesday!

Monday started the week off with most children working within their classes. They carried out lots of actvities which really whet the pupils appetites!

Year 6 had the opportunity to work with 'Open Minds' concerning financial capabilities. Just ask them about swans and ducks!

Tuesday has been a very busy day...
We have had lots of visitors in school sharing with us their occupations:

Tanya Shiels - Police car/ finger printing
    Paula Roberts - Healthy School

Year 5 also worked alongside 'Open Minds', looking at wages and jobs around us.

Wednesday will see the school welcoming in E999. Years 4,5 and 6 will listen to a service discussing e-safety. Following this, Year 6 will work alongside them all morning.

Thursday is going to be another busy day, in which we welcome many visitors to our School! Our hall will make way for the 16 people, all of which have varied and exciting jobs. These range from Chief Executives to actors, solicitors to builders and travel agents to highways engineers! We can't wait to bombard them with our thoughful questions!

    Reminders

    Uniform
    - All children should adhere to our uniform policy. Please can you ensure children are in shoes, not trainers or boots, and in shirts and ties where possible.

Lateness/Attendance - We thank the majority of children who arrive on time. There are still some who are continually late for school. A New Year is a fresh start and just to remind you all that school starts at 8.55a.m.
Please ensure all absences are phoned in to the absence line/office and all holiday forms are completed, if you must take a holiday in school term time.

Lost property- There is still a lot of lost property in school. In order to return items can you please try and ensure all items are labelled with your childs name.

Parking- Over the last few weeks it has become more and more evident that a small minority of our parents are continually parking without any regard for the well-being of your children. It is all too easy to say 'oh im late' and park on the pavement opposite the main school entrance or on the end corner. This is however extremely disrespectful to the schools ongoing drive to keep your children safe and the 99% of you who do try and park with care and consideration. Thank you for your cooperation.

Issues/Concerns - If you have a concern regarding your child then you should contact the Class Teacher first then the Team Leader, if you feel an issue/concern has not been resolved.

    Nursery/reception      -             Mrs J Edge
    Year1&2                   -             Mrs K Westaway-Green
    Year 3&4                  -             Mrs C Rodgers
    Year 5&6                 -              Mr r Pickavance

Supply Mid Day Supervisors - If you would be interested in doing supply mid day supervisor work, please contact the school office.
