  • 'Smokebugs' give us a very important message!

    Mon 26 Sep 2011
Last week, a group called 'Smokebugs' dropped in for a visit.

Their job was to pass the message on about smoking and how bad it is for us.
They gave a talk to Year 3, 4 and 5 about smoking and how dangerous it is.

They have left us with application forms if any children would like to join [minimum age of 8 years old]. Children will then receive a welcome pack.

Take a look at some of the photos from the time they spent with us in the hall.
  • Fancy a workout?

    Mon 26 Sep 2011
Maybe some of you have already noticed... our school had a new delivery last week!

On Friday morning, a big white lorry drove onto our school playground and unpacked some big metal objects! All different shapes and sizes, some with wheels, some with handles...

    This is our new gym!

The blue pieces of equipment are for the children to use and the grey bits are for grownups!

Obviously the gym equipment will have to be securely placed in the ground, so are not in use at the moment but fingers crossed it won't be too long!

    ...watch this space!
  • Damien Harvey visits our school!

  • Well....another year has begun!

    Mon 12 Sep 2011
    Didn't September come round fast!

And here we are starting another academic year.

Ysgol Bryn Hedydd has seen some changes with regards to staffing.

Mrs Warrilow has of course left us and keeps sending regular updates to us from Spain [yes...thank you for that Mrs Warrilow!!!]

So, in her place, we welcome Mr Rowen Pickavance. He is working alongside Mrs Williams in Year 3.

In Year 4, Mr Alex Jones is working in Mrs Lees place, who will be of work for the first half term. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Thank you to Mr Jones and we hope everyone is making him feel welcome.

Year 5 has also seen some changes. We, of course, said goodbye to Mrs Beattie in July. Mrs Rhian Hughes will be taking over in the Upper Juniors after her year-long maternity. But for this year, we would like to welcome back Mr Philip Nolan to Ysgol Bryn Hedydd.

In Year 2, we have welcomed Miss Laura Jones to the Infants. She will covering the class until half term, when Mrs Jenny Edge will be joining our staff.

So, as you can see, we are already busy, busy, busy!

Keep posted for more news and updates on our school website.
