Croeso to our school website! We believe that every step of your child's education is as important as the one before. With this in mind, we strive continually to provide inspiring learning experiences for children.
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Last year we were the 3rd best school in Wales and 33rd Nationally in the 'Big Pedal'.
This year we have seen an increse in the number of children who scooter to school but I would like to encourage as many children, parents and grandparents to join us in either cycling or scooting to school each day between the 5th-23rd March. We have to keep records of the number of children cycling or scootering each day. We then have to upload these figures daily.
If you are one of the parents caught in the queue waiting to leave Spruce Avenue each day at present, then please consider keeping up our terrific tradition of being the best cycling school in North Wales. We want to beat the 3,200 journeys from last year.
Rhyl will see the torch come through it on Tuesday 29th May. At present we cannot tell you the route but all schools in the area have decided that we will close at 2.00p.m. on that day to allow parents and pupils to get to see the torch for themselves. I will give you more details nearer the time.
£343.20
We would like to thank everyone that took part in the day and supported the new fundraising idea!During the week children will experience a range of fun lessons and activities to learn about Wales and celebrate the welsh culture. We will conclude the week with our traditional school Eisteddfod.
Following the success of previous years' competitions, we would like to announce our 2012 competition.
The title of the competition is:
Make - A 3D model of a famous landmark in Wales
The results will be announced in our annual school Eisteddfod on Friday 2nd March. The following competition is to be completed at home and is open to all pupils from Nursery to Year 6. We ask for all entries to be brought into school Monday 27th February.
Mwynhewch a pob lwc!
Have fun and good luck!
St David's Day Thursday 1st March
To mark the day children can come to school in Welsh National dress/Welsh sporting tops etc.
We are very proud of all those pupils who represented our school at cross country a couple of week ago. Ardderchog!
Ysgol Bryn Hedydd held trials to see which children would be going forward to represent our school. A group of approximately 20 children attended Blessed Edward Jones High School in Rhyl. Many other school were also attending.
These children battled against the elements and all did very well. They even had to face hail stones!
Take a look at the photographs of the cross country event.
Years 3,4 5, and 6 entered the competition.
Children were divided into gender groups and then competed against like ages.
Some of our children very very successful. Including Niomi Dally, Year 4VL who came 3rd in her race, out of about 80 children.
Joshua Nolan and Samuel Evans also did very well.
Four Year 6 boys have organised of their own accord a non-uniform day for next Friday 10th February.
The boys and in particular, Kynam Roberts have planned and even bought the resources for the 'Assume Position Day'
Their plan is that children will buy a toy soldier on the day for £1 and whenever the bell rings or the teachers special command goes then they must all 'Assume the Position of their soldier'
The boys hope that the money will go to St Kentigern's Hospice and some for their new playground. They have suggested that pupils wear 'green' on the day to keep affect with the day. Many thanks to the boys for the idea and organisation. We do hope you will be able to support us.
